Granatenkogel (3318 m) is located south of Obergurgl and is particularly suitable as a worthwhile ski touring destination in winter. In summer, its south-west flank – the so called "garnet wall" – makes an attractive hiking destination as the eponymous minerals, garnets, can be found here.
